The game was released ahead of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games that will be held in Vancouver, Canada. Sega Japan developed the game and has really hit all the right spot. There are plenty of sports to choose from and this will take you weeks or even months to play them all.

All the games that will be presented in the real 2010 Olympic Winter Games will be played in this game. The player can control either a Nintendo or Sega character. And a lot of players are really happy with this game as old memories come to life.

A new additional feature for this game is that the player can use the Balance Board to play several games but not necessary. Nintendo announced that the game will have a WebConnect24 capability.The player can also make use of his Mii and can customize it by changing accessories and clothes.

Festival mode is a new addition to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games where the player participates in all of the events. The player can join the opening ceremony until the closing of the whole event.

All the games in the real Olympic Winter Games 2010 is also included in the game. Aside from the old characters of the game there will also be four additional characters.
