Before you pull on those sports shoes, the joggers and top you must have decided enough was enough and you had to start changing things to get fit preferably using an easy fitness program.

What was that something that triggered this action? Was it recent poor health, feelings of tiredness or lack of energy or just a special occasion coming up where you wanted to lose some weight? Something has made you want to take action which is a good thing.

Easy fitness begins right at that point when an individual makes that first step toward better health.

Following the seven easy tips below will get you started on your easy fitness program.

1. Set measurable targets.

You need to have a plan to start your easy fitness program. Perhaps you want to lose a few pounds or have a certain level of fitness but keep the goals in your mind clearly at all times.

If this weight loss is being monitored by your doctor in regard to health issues, even a small amount of weight loss can bring significant improvement in many conditions.

Set fitness goals and then chunk this down into manageable smaller steps.

2. Keep the Vision of yourself in your mind at all times.

It is vital that you keep this goal before you at all times. See yourself thinner, fitter and in better health. This will keep you motivated.

Not only will an easy fitness program help you to lose weight and get fit but it will release endorphins which will make you feel great.

3. Complete a Fitness Journal

This will be your food intake and exercise log book. You can see how and where easy fitness is becoming a part of your everyday life. Write down every day the steps you need to take. By writing things down you are 11 times more likely to succeed.

4. Ask a friend or family member to join in.

Involving other people will encourage you to keep going and you can share the experiences.

5. Exercising at home.

Do the program while you are watching TV or your favorite movie. The time will pass more quickly and you will find it easier to continue.

6. Let music move you.

Choose a fast paced CD to get you exercising! Maybe a slower tune for the warm up and cool-down...

Music will make your exercise program more enjoyable and the time will pass quicker.

7. Buy a pedometer.

For a small cost of between $10-15, you can monitor every step you take when walking or jogging and know that you are measuring your progress towards your goal at the same time as burning calories and improving your fitness.

Aim for 10,000 steps daily but just keep moving as much as possible.

It just might be that the picture of the dress or jeans that you are working toward fitting into placed on the refrigerator door will be your "focus".

More importantly, if that last visit to your doctor indicated that you were suffering health problems as a direct result of your weight or lack of exercise this is causing you direct health problems and you need to take action to prevent further damage to your health.

Whatever your reason has been to change your habits you need to stay focused on your vision of the new you and by following an easy fitness program become fitter, slimmer and healthier as a result.
