Everyone wants to work from home. What better way is there to spend more time with your family while you earn money? You should know that there are tons of work-from-home jobs that you can do. You could go into marketing online or you could make money writing fiction from home.

Even though writing is not the most difficult industry to get into, you have to keep in mind that there are a few things you will have to learn in order to be a good writer. This is why so many writers go through some sort of course or have a degree in creative writing.

When you write fiction you must remember that it is something that cannot be learned. You have to have a natural talent for fiction stories. Many writers do not study writing for fiction purposes. They might just do a course to get the basic layout techniques and sentence structure.

There is one important thing you have to remember. A lot, if not all, new writers always make mistakes in the formatting of their writing. All areas of writing have a different format, for example, film script formats are different to TV scripts. Also, novels are different to TV and film scripts, and so are theatre plays. These are things you will have to bear in mind.

Once you got that down, or once you have completed a short course in creative writing you will need to decide on which area you want to go into for your novel. Do you want to write for kids, teenagers or adults? This will be your first choice.

Once you know who you are writing for, you need to decide where you want to write - theatre, TV, film, magazines, or books. Also do you want to do into writing full novels or short stories? You do not need to take one of them, as there are many writers who excel in many different areas of writing.
